From lhhubbell at oldgleaner.com Mon Mar 1 21:18:48 2010 From: lhhubbell at oldgleaner.com (Leland Hubbell) Date: Mon, 01 Mar 2010 22:18:48 -0500 Subject: [Wgsftelevision] March Message-ID: <4B8C8398.5030009@oldgleaner.com> Greetings to All: January has come and gone. February has come and gone. Snow is still here. The roads are clear, though, and those perennial precursors of spring are popping up - (down, really) - potholes. Hope everyone is well, and keeping busy. I've got to start putting together a presentation for the Early Television Museum meeting at the end of April. Be nice if there is a good representation from the WGSF group. John H. and Larry W. plan to attend the taping. Hope others responded direct to Steve McVoy. A reminder: Steve wrote - "The Early Television Museum is having its annual convention April 23-25. On Sunday afternoon (1 PM) I?d like to have a very informal session at which anyone who has recollections of the van (or of WGSF in general) could talk about their experiences. This would be held in front of the van, and, of course, taped and broadcast on the internet." There is a steady number of 'hits' every day on the WGSF blog site. On 2/28 there were 168 hits. It has a service that lists the visitors by IP number, so I don't get a name. Had a couple of searches last week for names of Student Staffers and search engine pointed them to WGSF blog. A lot of searches for TV cameras, TV mobile truck, vacuum tubes. . . . . . Oh! How the mighty have fallen. A year ago I was staying in a ritzy, expensive hotel, with room service 24/7. Didn?t have to lift anything heavier than a glass. Lounge around and watch TV, read the papers. Now I have to fetch my own goodies. Cut, split and bring in firewood, if I want to stay warm. Got a bunch of hungry mouths to provide for. Haul loads of feed, bales of hay. Unloaded a trailer with 80 bales yesterday, and all I felt was hungry! But I?ll take it! Doc?s did a good job! Babes in the barn - Grand children?s 4-H lambs. Cinder, the yearling, with the long, black wool, led off with a nice ewe (girl) lamb, named Ella. White lamb. Rose now has a Petal. Blackie boasting twins, colored more like their mom. Lambs are gamboling about. (No, that?s not a misspelling!) Yep! Still going to the Hartford Fair. Sometimes even take a little video. Wish I could get some of the 1970's programs on the internet. Robins hanging around. Got to be eating something other than worms. Plenty of crows, and a few gaggles of geese. Deer chowing down on trees, and pawing holes in the snow. Looks like a coon or two checking us out, from the tracks. Fun to be out and about . . . Share some activities with the 'gang.' Send an e-mail with wgsftelevision at wgsf.oldgleaner.com in the To: address, and it goes to the entire group. Mr. H
